OnePlus 15 Specs Surface Online, Hinting At A Major Battery Upgrade

It's powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, has triple 50MP cameras, a new vibration motor that provides better haptics and more.

The OnePlus 15 is, by all accounts, just around the corner for its Chinese and global unveiling. Up until now, OnePlus has been quite tight-lipped about the phone.

However, a fresh leak from Weibo has given us a much more comprehensive look at the rumoured specs sheet for the device.

Starting with the display, the phone is said to feature a 6.78-inch BOE X3 AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution. It will reportedly include LTPO technology for a dynamic refresh rate that can swing all the way from a power-sipping 1Hz up to a super-smooth 165Hz. The leak also mentions support for Dolby Vision and Pro XDR, with a rather punchy advertised brightness of 1,800 nits.

Under the bonnet, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, supposedly paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The memory configurations doing the rounds are quite varied, including options like 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB, and a top-tier 16GB/1TB model, though these will likely differ from region to region. The leak also notes the inclusion of something called ‘Wind Chi Game Kernel 2.0’ tech.

For the camera system, the OnePlus 15 is tipped to sport a triple-camera array on the back, with all three sensors coming in at 50MP. The main camera is rumoured to use a Sony LYT-700 sensor (24mm, f/1.8, with OIS), while both the 0.6x ultrawide (15mm, f/2.0) and the 3.5x telephoto (85mm, f/2.8, with OIS) are said to use Samsung’s ISOCELL JN5 sensors.

The rest of the leaked specs paint a picture of a very well-equipped flagship phone. It’s said to pack a substantial 7,300mAh third-generation glacier battery, supported by 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. Other notable mentions include a new generation of linear dual speakers, a large volume vibration motor, and an improved wet hand touch algorithm. An ultrasonic under-display fingerprint reader is also on the cards, alongside a new cooling system, multi-function NFC, an IR blaster, and a USB 3.1 Gen1 (5Gbps) Type-C port.
