Poco F7 Pro & F7 Ultra Malaysia Launch: Prices Start At RM2,299

If you purchase the phone early before 9 April, you get up to RM400 off.

Poco has officially unveiled its latest flagship lineup—the Poco F7 Series, consisting of two models: the F7 Pro and the all-new F7 Ultra. Marking Poco’s first-ever “Ultra” smartphone, the F7 Ultra packs the most advanced hardware in the series

At its core lies the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, available in two configurations: 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and 16GB RAM + 512GB storage, both leveraging LPDDR5X RAM and ultra-fast UFS 4.1 storage.

There’s a dedicated graphics chip—the VisionBoost D7, a first for the F-series. Built on a 12nm process, this co-processor handles AI upscaling, frame generation, and Game HDR, enhancing not just gaming but also streaming content on YouTube and Netflix.

For gaming, this phone has LiquidCool Technology 4.0, which features a dual-channel cooling system and an extra-large 5,400mm² vapor chamber, reducing chipset temps by up to 3°C, according to the company.

The F7 Ultra sports a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED panel with a sharp 1,440 x 3,200px resolution and 12-bit colour depth, protected by Poco Shield Glass. Brightness is staggering—1,800 nits typical, with a 3,200-nit peak for HDR content. Touch response is equally impressive, with a 480Hz base rate that can spike to 2,560Hz for ultra-low latency, further optimised by the VisionBoost D7.

Photography gets a major upgrade with a triple-camera setup headlined by the 50MP Light Fusion 800 sensor (1/1.55″, 1.0µm pixels, f/1.6, OIS). The camera app offers focal length toggles (35mm, 48mm) for flexible framing.

The standout, however, is the floating telephoto lens, offering a native 60mm (2.5x) optical zoom that can digitally extend to 120mm (5x) thanks to its 50MP sensor. It also supports OIS and tele-macro shots at 10cm. Rounding out the setup is a 32MP ultra-wide camera (120° FoV) and a 32MP front-facing shooter for selfies.

Powering the device is a 5,300mAh battery, managed by two custom Surge chips: the G1 for battery optimisation and the P3 for charging efficiency. With 120W HyperCharge, the F7 Ultra hits 100% in just 34 minutes, while 50W wireless charging offers a speedy alternative. The Surge chips also ensure longevity—80% battery health retention after 1,600 charge cycles.

The phone also gets an IP68 rating, and has a thickness of 8.4mm and weighs 212g.

The F7 Ultra upgrades to an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner (a step up from the F6 Pro’s optical sensor) and includes NFC, IR blaster, dual-frequency GPS, and stereo speakers.

Running Xiaomi HyperOS 2 (based on Android 15), Poco promises four years of Android upgrades and six years of security patches, ensuring long-term usability.

This phone is packing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 alongside up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

The F7 Pro features the same 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display as the F7 Ultra, but it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i instead. It also includes an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Just like the F7 Ultra, the Pro model includes the dedicated VisionBoost D7 graphics chip, enabling AI upscaling, frame interpolation, and Game HDR enhancements.

Powering the device is a massive 6,000mAh battery, managed by the same Surge G1 power management chip and Surge P3 charging controller found in the Ultra. The result? 90W wired charging that refuels the phone in a flash—though wireless charging is absent, a notable omission for some.

The camera setup is where the F7 Pro takes a step back from the Ultra. It retains the 50MP Light Fusion 800 main sensor (with OIS), which should deliver strong daylight and low-light shots. However, the 8MP ultrawide feels a bit dated, and there’s no telephoto lens—a trade-off for the lower price. Selfies are handled by a 20MP front camera, which should be solid for video calls and social media.

Like its bigger brother, the F7 Pro comes with IP68 water and dust resistance, a rarity in this price segment. It also runs Xiaomi HyperOS 2 (based on Android 15) with the same four years of OS updates and six years of security patches.
