RedMagic Astra Gaming Tablet Now In Malaysia; Price Starting At RM3,399

This gaming tablet goes on sale starting 14 July, and there's an RM400 discount if you get it before the end of July.

The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro, which launched in China last month, has now made its way to Malaysia under the name RedMagic Astra.

This tablet packs a 9.06-inch OLED display with an ultra-smooth 165Hz refresh rate. The screen can hit a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and stays at 1,100 nits for full-screen brightness, all while using 5,280Hz high-frequency PWM dimming to help reduce eye strain.

Under the hood, it runs on the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 Pro storage. There’s also a dedicated RedCore R3 Pro chip that boosts game graphics to 2K resolution at up to 120fps.

To handle all that power, RedMagic included its ICE-X Cooling system, which uses liquid metal, a large vapor chamber, and an RGB-lit fan that supposedly lowers chip temps by up to 8°C.

Battery life is pretty solid, with an 8,200mAh capacity that delivers around 5.5 hours of gaming (tested with Honkai: Star Rail, according to RedMagic). It supports 80W fast charging, reaching 50% in just 20 minutes. The USB-C port is smartly placed higher up on the side to avoid cable interference while gaming, and it’s a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port capable of outputting 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 144Hz.

The tablet is built with aerospace-grade aluminum and has a slim 4.9mm bezel around the display. The back is mostly metal, except for a glass panel that gives a peek at the cooling fan inside.
