Samsung Galaxy A27 5G Launches In Malaysia; Price Starts At RM1,399

This phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage that can be expanded via a MicroSD card.

Samsung Malaysia has just dropped a brand new budget-friendly smartphone, the Galaxy A27 5G.

Under the hood, it runs on Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor with 8GB of RAM paired with either 128GB or 256GB of storage, and if you need more space for photos and apps, you can slide in a microSD card to expand that up to a massive 2TB.

Flipping it over to the front, there is a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display that keeps everything looking silky smooth with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Keeping the phone running is a hefty 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging. Unsurprisingly for a phone at this price point, wireless charging did not make the cut.

For photography, you are looking at a 50MP main camera on the back complete with optical image stabilisation, backed up by a 5MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, there is a 12MP camera tucked away on the front.

It is also decently rugged with an IP64 dust and water resistance rating, all packed into a chassis that measures 162.4 x 78.2 x 7.8mm and weighs 200 grams.

On the software side of things, it ships with Android 16 right out of the box, customised with Samsung’s own One UI 8.5 skin. Samsung is promising up to six years of software support, which is great for a budget device.

Pricing and Availability

If you are thinking of picking one up, it comes in three distinct colours: Black, Dark Blue, and Light Pink. As for the price in Malaysia, the 128GB version will set you back RM1,399, whilst upgrading to the 256GB variant brings the price to RM1,499.
