Fresh leaks regarding the Samsung Galaxy S26 series has given us a potential launch date and a whole host of specs to pick over, so let’s dive in.
Apparently, Samsung is planning to pull the covers off its new flagship series on the 25 February 2026. The Galaxy Unpacked event is tipped to be held in San Francisco, where we’re expecting to see the S26 Pro, S26+, and S26 Ultra make their debut. Notice one missing? It seems the S26 Edge might not make the cut, reportedly due to less-than-stellar sales.
Now, onto the really juicy bit – the chips and the specs. Word is that Samsung is prepping the world’s first 2nm-class smartphone chipset, the Exynos 2600. This bit of kit is said to be designed by Samsung’s own System LSI arm and built on their foundry’s 2nm process. It’s rumoured to pack a 10-core CPU and an AMD RDNA-based GPU. If the leaks are correct, this powerful new chip will find a home in the standard S26 and the S26+ across most of the globe. For the top-tier S26 Ultra everywhere, it seems Qualcomm will still get a look-in, with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 taking the reins.

Speaking of the Ultra, it’s believed to be sticking with its familiar 6.9-inch screen size, but the OLED panel itself is getting an upgrade to an M14 type. It might also introduce a clever new AI privacy feature. On the camera front, the megapixel counts for the main, ultrawide, and 5x telephoto lenses are staying put at 200MP, 50MP, and 50MP respectively, but the sensors behind them are supposedly being improved. The one camera that’s still a bit of a mystery is the 3x telephoto; the leaker isn’t sure if it’ll keep the old 12MP sensor, get a larger 12MP one, or even jump up to 50MP. Powering all this could be a sizeable 5,400 mAh battery.
The S26+, meanwhile, looks set for a more significant camera overhaul. The main sensor is tipped to get much larger, the ultrawide is reportedly jumping to 50MP, and the 10MP telephoto is being swapped out for a more substantial 12MP sensor.

As for the standard Galaxy S26, it’s said to receive the same excellent camera upgrades as its Plus sibling. The battery is also in for a modest boost, potentially landing around 4,200 or 4,300 mAh.
Perhaps the most intriguing part of the leak is the mention of a new, slimmer Galaxy S26 model. This one is intended to sit right between the standard and Plus models in size, featuring a 6.6-inch display. It supposedly won’t have the same compromises as the old Edge and would come with a triple 50MP camera setup and a 4,300 mAh battery. It sounds like a rather tempting proposition.
Of course, this is all still in the realm of rumour, so take it with a pinch of salt. But if even half of this turns out to be true, Samsung has some very interesting plans for 2026.
