After Huawei, Samsung has become the second company to launch a triple-folding smartphone, officially naming it the ‘Galaxy Z TriFold‘.
It takes a different approach to the Huawei Mate XT, employing a dual titanium hinge system. This clever design allows the main folding screen to tuck away completely when closed, keeping it protected. The cover screen sits on the back, while the two sides of the flexible display fold neatly into the centre.

When fully opened, that main folding screen is a huge 10 inches and boasts a resolution of 2,160 x 1,584 pixels, a smooth 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and can hit a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Over on the right side, you’ll find a small punch-hole for the 10-megapixel selfie camera.
The 6.5-inch cover screen isn’t too shabby either, with a 2,520 x 1,080-pixel resolution and the same adaptive refresh rate. It has a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio, can push brightness up to 2,600 nits, and is shielded by Corning’s Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. It also has its own 10MP front-facing camera.
The design is impressively thin, thanks to an Advanced Armor Aluminium frame. At its thinnest point, it measures just 3.9mm. When folded, it comes in at 159.2 x 75 x 12.9 mm and weighs 309 grams. For peace of mind, it carries an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance.

Under the hood, the TriFold uses the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset found in the Z Fold7, rather than the very latest 8 Elite Gen 5 version. This is paired with 16GB of RAM and a choice of either 512GB or 1TB of storage.
Around the back, it inherits the Z Fold7’s triple-camera array: a 200MP main sensor (the ISOCELL HP2), a 10MPl 3x telephoto, and a 12MP ultrawide lens.
On the software side, it runs One UI 8 based on Android 16. The massive screen real estate unlocks some clever multitasking, like running three full-sized apps side-by-side in portrait mode. It’s also the first Samsung phone to feature a standalone Samsung DeX, letting you pull up a desktop-like interface directly from the Quick Settings panel. Hook up a mouse and keyboard, and the Z TriFold transforms into a rather portable workstation.

Powering it all is a 5,600 mAh battery, split into three cells across the device’s back panels. It supports 45W wired and 15W wireless charging.
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold will launch in a single Crafted Black colour. In South Korea, it will retail for KRW3,594,000 (~RM10,095) and be available from Friday, 12 December 2025. Samsung has confirmed plans to expand sales to China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE, and the United States in the future.
As for whether this tri-fold phone will make its way to Malaysia, there’s no news on that front at the moment.
