Samsung One UI 7 Is Coming Next Year With Galaxy S25 Series

It will be based on Android 15.

During the Samsung Developers Conference 2024, the Korean tech giant announced a significant update: a developer beta version of One UI 7, the forthcoming major OS update for Galaxy devices, will be released before the year’s end. This eagerly awaited update is set to be based on Android 15.

At the conference, Samsung offered a preview of One UI 7’s capabilities. The company highlighted that this update will bring forth a user experience focused on simplicity and “emotive design.”

One UI 7 will focus on three core design elements:

  • Simple: To create purposeful simplicity across the user interface.
  • Impactful: Creating a new signature impression for One UI.
  • Emotive: Introducing UI elements, such as a new blur engine, designed to evoke positive emotional responses from users.

Samsung stated that the new software won’t be ready for a full release in 2024. Instead, it will debut alongside the Galaxy S25 series next year, which is going to launch in January 2025.

While Samsung has not yet announced a beta version of One UI 7 for general users, it’s expected that the company will release it in the coming weeks, following the developer version.

This staggered release strategy allows developers to test and provide feedback on the new features before they are rolled out to the broader user base.
