Sonos just dropped a huge announcement with two brand-new products, the Beam Ultra and Ace Ultra, alongside a next-generation audio operating system called Sonos 27.
The Beam Ultra takes their compact soundbar setup to the next level with a 7.1.2-channel configuration with nine custom drivers, plus an additional two up-firing drivers to give Dolby Atmos spatial audio a proper boost. Sonos has also overhauled the centre channel with fresh hardware and smart processing, adding AI-driven dialogue enhancement with four adjustable levels to keep voice tracks crystal clear.
Over on the personal audio side, the Ace Ultra headphones get some serious hardware upgrades. They now feature redesigned 40mm drivers and 10 microphones, which Sonos claims delivers a massive improvement to low-frequency active noise cancellation. The coolest tweak is how seamlessly they fit into the wider setup, as a single button press transfers your music straight between your speakers and headphones without needing your phone anywhere nearby.
You get up to 35 hours of battery life with noise cancelling switched on, and a quick three-minute charge gives you another three hours of playback. High-resolution audio fans are covered too, thanks to support for aptX Adaptive Lossless over Bluetooth and uncompressed audio via USB-C.
The software side is getting a overhaul with Sonos 27, bringing refreshed navigation and optional AI features to current hardware. Sonos is launching its own built-in voice assistant alongside a smart integration platform that lets external AI tools like ChatGPT interact with your home audio setup. The app redesign and early access features start rolling out from 8 September.

Local pricing lands at RM4,199 for the Beam Ultra in classic black or white, while the Ace Ultra comes in at RM2,299 across four shades including Black, White, Agave, and Sand. Both are open for pre-order starting 2 September on the TC Acoustic website and at their flagship shop in The Starhill, KL.
