Sonos Play & Era 100 SL Launched In Malaysia: Price Starts From RM1,199

The Play is a new portable Bluetooth speaker, while the SL is a more affordable version of the Era 100.

Sonos just pulled the wraps off two new additions to their lineup: the Play and the Era 100 SL.

Sonos Play

If you have been looking for something that can handle a bit of a splash, the Play is built for the outdoors with an IP67 rating, meaning it is totally fine with dust or even a literal dunk in the water. Plus, it stays powered for up to 24 hours and even doubles as a power bank for your phone. It even comes with a strap on the back for easy carrying.

When it comes to the tech inside, the Play plays nice with others. You can link up to four of them or a Move 2 together via Bluetooth without needing a Wi-Fi signal, which is brilliant for outdoor parties. Of course, it still has Wi-Fi for when you are back indoors and want it to join your existing home setup.

It comes with a wireless charging base and features the usual Trueplay tech for optimising the audio to suit your surroundings, alongside support for AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect.

Era 100 SL

On the other hand, we have the Era 100 SL. If that name sounds familiar, it is because the hardware is identical to the Era 100 that arrived in early 2023, with one main difference: it lacks a microphone.

If you are not bothered about shouting commands at a voice assistant or you simply prefer a bit more privacy, this is the one for you. The best part is that ditching the mic brings the price down, making it more affordable.

Pricing and Availability

In terms of the damage to your wallet, the Play is landing at RM1,899, while the Era 100 SL is a bit easier on the bank account at RM1,199.

You can get your pre-orders in starting today through the TC Acoustic website, the concept store at The Starhill, or their official Lazada page. If you would rather pick one up in person, they will be hitting the shelves at various retail partners across Malaysia from Tuesday, 7 April 2026.
