Sony Teases “Project Defiant” – Its First Wireless PS5 & PC Fight Stick

It will come out in 2026.

Sony dropped a teaser for their first PlayStation wireless fight stick, called “Project Defiant,” during today’s State of Play.

The controller is designed to work wirelessly with both PS5 and PC using PlayStation Link technology, according to PlayStation’s blog post.

The PlayStation Link provides ultra-low latency, so your button presses and stick movements should feel super responsive. If you prefer a wired connection, you can also plug it in via USB-C.

The fight stick features a digital stick custom-made by Sony Interactive Entertainment, along with mechanical switch buttons. It also has a touchpad like the one on the DualSense controller, and the stick comes with interchangeable restrictor gates—square, circle, and octagon—so you can customise how it feels.

Project Defiant even includes a carrying case with a special gap for the lever, keeping the stick protected when you’re on the go. Sony’s aiming to launch the controller in 2026, and they’ll share more details, like the final name, in the coming months.
