Sony’s Project Defiant Is Now The FlexStrike: A Wireless PS5 & PC Fight Stick

It will come out sometime in 2026.

Sony had previously teased a wireless fight stick under the codename “Project Defiant,” but now we finally have official details.

The device has been officially named the FlexStrike, with a planned release window sometime in 2026, according to a PlayStation Blog post.

The FlexStrike will work with both PS5 and PC, and it supports PlayStation Link for wireless connectivity. Using a PlayStation Link USB adapter, you can pair compatible headsets like the Pulse Elite or Pulse Explore earbuds, as well as connect up to two FlexStrike controllers for local multiplayer.

One of the coolest features is its customisation options. The trailer shows off a toolless gate swap system, just pop open the non-slip grip at the bottom, and you can easily switch between square, circular, and octagonal gates for the joystick. No extra purchases or tools required.

The FlexStrike includes handy extras such as a stick input swap for menu navigation and a lock switch to disable certain buttons (useful for tournaments). The eight face buttons are mechanical, so inputs should feel crisp and responsive.

And if you prefer navigating menus with a traditional controller, you can pair a DualSense alongside the FlexStrike.
