Steam Controller Launching 4 May 2026; Steam Machine & VR Headset Nowhere To Be Seen

The controller costs USD99 (~RM391) and is only available in a few countries.

Valve teased us with a trio of hardware announcements last November, and the first of the bunch is finally almost here.

The Steam Controller is set to launch on Monday, 4 May 2026, carrying a price tag of USD99 (~RM391) over in the United States. It is also heading to a handful of other countries, including the UK, Canada, the EU, Australia, and Poland.

When it comes to compatibility, the controller is designed to connect with anything running Steam or the Steam Link app. That means it will work seamlessly with your PC, Mac, mobile, or Steam Deck. Eventually, it will also serve as the main input for the Steam Machine console and the Steam Frame VR headset, though Valve is keeping quiet on exactly when those products will actually debut.
