TikTok & Apple Music Introduced Play Full Song Feature For Seamless Music Discovery

This feature, plus another new feature called "Listening Party", is rolling out to users over the weeks ahead.

Ever found yourself scrolling through TikTok and getting a music or a song snippet stuck in your head, only to spend far too long trying to track down the full version? We have all been there.

Thankfully, TikTok and Apple have teamed up to make that whole process a lot smoother with a new feature called Play Full Song, which is launching exclusively through Apple Music. It lets subscribers listen to entire tracks without ever having to hop out of the TikTok app.

If you spot a tune you love on your For You or Sound Detail page, you can now just tap the Play Full Song button. This opens up an Apple Music player right then and there so you can hear the whole thing. The best part is that it does not just stop at one track; it keeps the vibe going by moving into a personalised stream of recommended songs. It completely removes the need to switch apps and start a manual search, which is a massive win for anyone who values a seamless experience.

Beyond just listening, the integration lets you save your new favourite finds to Your Music or add them straight to your existing Apple Music playlists. Because this was built using Apple’s MusicKit, all those full-length plays are officially tracked within the Apple Music service. This ensures that artists and rights holders are getting paid for their streams, so you can enjoy your music knowing you are supporting the people who made it while keeping your listening session uninterrupted.

This update builds on the foundation of the Add to Music tool, which was already helping fans save TikTok discoveries to their libraries.

On top of that, they are also introducing a feature called Listening Party. This is designed to be a more social way to experience music, allowing fans to listen to tracks alongside their favourite artists in real time. It is a shared space where you can chat with other fans and engage directly with the artist, making the whole discovery process feel much more like a community event.
