TikTok is enhancing its Family Pairing feature with new tools designed to give parents greater oversight and control over their teen’s activity on the platform.
The latest update introduces the Time Away feature, which allows parents to restrict access to the app during specific times, such as bedtime, school hours, or family events. This aims to help families establish healthier digital boundaries at home.

Another significant update is improved visibility into a teen’s online interactions. Parents can now see who their teens are engaging with online, including who they follow and who follows them back. They can also view which accounts their teen has blocked.

Additionally, the platform is introducing a wind-down feature for users under 16, which will display full-screen reminders and calming music if they’re still active on the app after 10 PM. The company is also testing a meditation component to encourage healthier bedtime routines.

TikTok emphasises that these features are intended to foster conversations about online safety and responsible digital habits.
