WhatsApp Is Getting Reverse Image Search Feature

This feature enables users to quickly search the internet for an image they have received to confirm its authenticity.

WhatsApp is introducing a new feature currently available on its Android beta channel: Reverse Image Search.

This feature allows users to quickly perform an online search for an image they’ve received to verify its authenticity when necessary, according to WABetaInfo.

When a user selects an image, a new option, “Search on web,” will appear in the three-dot menu at the top right.

This action uploads the image to Google, and the search engine displays identical and similar images, helping you assess the reliability of the received image.

With this integrated feature, users can bypass the steps of downloading or uploading images for a search, enabling quicker results.

Presently, this feature is exclusive to beta testers, and it may take a few weeks or even months before it’s rolled out to all users, so we just have to wait and see if this feature will arrive on our phones.
