WhatsApp Is Working On A Message Scheduling Feature

This feature is still being developed and might or might not come out.

WhatsApp might finally be getting the feature many of us have been asking for ages: the ability to schedule messages.

The team over at WABetaInfo spotted this one hidden in a recent iOS beta version, and it looks like it will apply to both your group chats and your private messages. It is a bit of a game-changer if you are prone to forgetting birthdays or if you just want to send a reminder without pestering someone in the middle of the night.

The way it works seems fairly straightforward. You just write your message as usual and then pick the exact date and time you want it to go live. There will be a new section in the chat info area where you can see all your upcoming scheduled bits. This is quite handy because it means you can jump in and delete a message if you change your mind before it actually sends.

Just keep in mind that this is still very much in the development phase and hasn’t even rolled out to beta testers yet. Because it is still being developed behind the scenes, there is no absolute certainty that this feature will see the light of day.
