WhatsApp’s Latest Feature Lets You Cross-Post Status To Facebook And Instagram

Soon, you will be able to link WhatsApp to Accounts Center, allowing you to use the same account to access several Meta apps.

Meta has announced that WhatsApp will be integrated into its Accounts Center in the coming months. This move will allow users to automatically share their WhatsApp Status updates as Instagram and Facebook Stories.

Adding WhatsApp to the Meta Accounts Center will remain optional and disabled by default. However, users who choose to link their accounts will gain greater control over cross-posting, deciding whether to share their Status updates to Instagram Stories, Facebook Stories, or both.

In addition to cross-posting, the Accounts Center allows users to log in to multiple Meta-owned apps, such as Facebook and Instagram, with a single account.

Meta also plans to expand the functionality of the Accounts Center to include centralised management of avatars, Meta AI stickers, and Imagine Me creations across all its apps.

Meta reassures users that integrating WhatsApp into the Accounts Center will not compromise the platform’s end-to-end encryption. Messages and calls on WhatsApp will remain private, ensuring that “no one else, not even WhatsApp or Meta, can read or hear them.”
