Redmi has officially launched its new flagship smartphone in China, the K90 Pro Max. This device introduces an unusual audio configuration for a mobile phone, a 2.1 channel sound system. The setup includes a speaker at the top near the earpiece and another at the bottom, complemented by a unique addition: an independent woofer positioned on the rear of the device beside the camera array. The entire audio system has been tuned in collaboration with Bose, with promises of class-leading bass and a rich, detailed sound profile.

Under the hood, the phone is equipped with the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which also powers the current Xiaomi 17 series. This is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.
The K90 Pro Max features a large 6.9-inch LTPS OLED display with a resolution of 2608 x 1200 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is notably bright, with a rated peak local brightness of 3,500 nits, and is protected by Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal Glass. Other front-facing features include a 3D ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanner and a 32MP selfie camera.

For photography, the device employs a triple-camera system on the rear, with each lens using a 50MP sensor. The primary camera, borrowed from the Xiaomi 17, uses a 1/1.31-inch Light Fusion 950 sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), offering a 23mm equivalent focal length and a 13.5EV dynamic range. It is joined by a 50MP periscope telephoto lens capable of 5x optical zoom (115mm equivalent), and a 50MP ultrawide camera with an 18mm equivalent focal length and a 102-degree field of view.

The phone runs HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, straight out of the box and is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. Powering the device is a substantial 7,560mAh silicon-carbon battery, which supports 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W reverse wireless charging.
