You Can Now Use WhatsApp Directly On Your Apple Watch

But only for Apple Watch Series 4 or newer that’s running watchOS 10 or above.

The moment a fair few of you have been waiting for: the official WhatsApp app has finally landed on the Apple Watch, and it’s available for everyone to download straight away.

This new app means you can properly leave your iPhone in your pocket. You’re able to read entire messages, even the long ones, directly on your wrist. You can write out and send new messages, fire off those quick emoji reactions, and even record and send voice messages. It also handles call notifications, so you can see who’s trying to reach you with just a glance.

A few of the highlights are worth calling out. The media experience has been given a nice bump, with clearer images and stickers. You’ll also find that more of your chat history is visible on the screen, which makes following a conversation much easier. Essentially, it brings the core WhatsApp experience to your wrist without feeling like a stripped-down afterthought.

To get it working, you’ll need an Apple Watch Series 4 or newer that’s running watchOS 10 or later. Of course, it requires a connected iPhone with the main WhatsApp app installed. Just make sure you’ve updated your iPhone’s WhatsApp app to the latest version that dropped today, and you should be good to go.
