It looks like Samsung is dropping some pretty big hints about what we can expect from the upcoming Galaxy S26 series.
The Korean tech giant is teasing a new layer of privacy designed to keep your everyday moments strictly between you and your screen. Essentially, they are looking to kill off the annoyance of shoulder surfing. Whether you are on the tube or just in a crowded coffee shop, the idea is that you will be able to check your messages or tap in a password without worrying about some nosy stranger hovering over your shoulder.
This isn’t just a simple filter, though. This new feature will be massively customisable. Unlike those physical privacy screen protectors that just dim your display for everyone, Samsung’s version lets you pick and choose. You could set it to kick in only for specific apps or when you are entering sensitive login details for the more private parts of your device. You can even narrow it down to just protecting notification pop-ups, which is a nice touch. It is a much more tailored approach that you can tweak or just turn off entirely when you are at home.
Rumour has it that this new privacy feature is only coming to the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
Apparently, this tech has been in the works for over five years, with Samsung spending plenty of time engineering and refining the experience to get it just right. We are bound to get the full lowdown on how this actually works quite soon.
