Oppo Find X9 Ultra & ColorOS 16: Every New AI Feature Explained

It can scan and record your bills, translate menus for you, deliver a summary of your emails and more.

Oppo has just revealed some new AI features heading to ColorOS 16 (Android 16), which is set to debut on the upcoming Find X9 Ultra on 21 April.

One of the standout additions is the AI Bill Manager tucked inside the AI Mind Space. It is designed to automatically grab and record spending details from digital invoices or billing info. You can trigger it by tapping the Snap Key or using a three-finger swipe right after making a payment. It even works for physical paper receipts; you just open the camera, use the same gesture, and the system turns that scrap of paper into a structured record. Everything gets neatly organised in a dedicated Bill Memory collection so you can keep track of your spendings with ease.

Then there is AI Mind Pilot, which Oppo is pitching as a way to get truly personalised answers. It uses your own context from the Mind Space to figure out what you need, then orchestrates a team of different AI models to handle the heavy lifting. You can even choose a preferred model or run several at once to compare their responses side-by-side, which is quite handy if you want to see different perspectives on a tricky question without jumping between different apps.

For those who love to travel, the AI Menu Translation feature looks like a proper dining companion. When you are sitting in a restaurant abroad, it does more than just translate the text on the page. It identifies key ingredients and even generates images of the dishes so you actually know what you are ordering. It also converts the prices into your preferred currency on the fly, saving you from doing mental maths while you wait for your food.

To help you get a head start on your morning, the new AI Email Brief delivers a personalised summary of your inbox from the last 24 hours. It categorises important meetings and to-do items, allowing you to add them to your calendar with a single tap. It seems like a solid way to clear the clutter and focus on what actually matters before you have even finished your first coffee.

On the interface side of things, ColorOS 16 introduces Live Space. This feature lets you use gestures to switch between a minimal capsule view and stacked notifications on your lock screen. It is a clever way to keep your wallpaper looking clean and unobstructed while still making it easy to check your updates at a glance.

Finally, Oppo is working with Google to bring AirDrop support to Quick Share on the Find X9 Ultra. It is still a bit unclear if this will be ready the moment the phone launches or if we will have to wait for a later update.

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is open for preorders now in Malaysia until 20 April 2026 and you can collect it as early as 2 May 2026.
