WhatsApp Launches Incognito Chat With Meta AI

WhatsApp claims you can ask or tell the AI whatever you want, and nobody will know what it is.

WhatsApp has just revealed its new ‘Incognito Chat with Meta AI,’ essentially giving you a private corner to ask the chatbot whatever you want without leaving a digital footprint.

Meta is talking a big game on the privacy front, insisting that these conversations are completely private. According to them, not even the team at Meta or WhatsApp can read what your private chats.

It is quite interesting to see WhatsApp take a swipe at the competition here. They reckon that other AI chatbots with so-called private modes aren’t actually that private, as the developers can often still monitor the questions and answers moving back and forth. So WhatsApp claims these messages aren’t saved and are set to disappear by default.

There is also more on the horizon, with a feature called ‘Side Chat’, protected by ‘Private Processing’, expected to arrive in the next few months. WhatsApp says this feature enables the AI to understand the context of your current conversation without actually jumping into the middle of the thread.

The Incognito Chat feature will be rolling out to all WhatsApp users over the coming months.
