Perodua Slashes QV-E Prices And Battery Subscription Costs

Perodua's first EV now has a starting price of RM69,999.

Perodua just dropped some good news for anyone looking to switch to an electric vehicle (EV). Their first-ever EV, the QV-E, is getting a massive price cut, and it is all thanks to the company sourcing way more of its parts right here in Malaysia.

By ramping up local manufacturing, Malaysia’s biggest carmaker is not just lowering the barrier to entry for EVs, but they are also giving the local supply chain a major boost and protecting domestic jobs, according to NST.

If you are looking to buy one outright, the standard price has officially dropped to RM93,999. Alternatively, you can opt for their Battery as a Service scheme, which drops the upfront cost of the car to RM69,999, paired with a monthly battery lease of RM215 inclusive of tax over nine years.

It is a massive discount from the original launch price last December, where the body alone cost RM80,000 without the battery, and the leasing fee was a much higher RM297 a month.

To make things even sweeter and help drivers cope with the rising cost of living, Perodua is running a limited-time promo until 30 September 2026. During this window, you can snag the QV-E outright for just RM87,499, or go the subscription route for an incredibly low RM63,499 upfront, with the monthly battery fee staying at that locked-in RM215.

Also, Perodua is not leaving early adopters out in the cold. Existing owners are getting a special refund, and their monthly bills will automatically drop to the new RM215 rate from their next payment cycle.

According to Perodua CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, pushing for local components has vastly improved production efficiency and made the brand far less reliant on foreign tech and import chains.

Production has now crossed 500 units a month, allowing them to pass these operational savings directly to buyers. As an added bonus, this local shift means spare parts, especially body panels, will be much easier and quicker to source when you need a fix. Plus, if you decide to buy the car outright, Perodua has promised to buy back the battery from you when it eventually reaches the end of its life.
