Oppo Is Reportedly Rolling Out ColorOS Across OnePlus And Realme Devices

Which means that OxygenOS and Realme UI will cease to exist in the near future.

Did you know that Oppo, OnePlus and Realme are actually siblings? They all belong to the same parent company, BBK Electronics, even though they have always operated as independent brands.

Well, that is about to change. Word on the street via Smartprix is that Oppo is kicking off a massive consolidation of its smartphone business. In a pretty aggressive restructuring move, both OnePlus and Realme are being folded entirely into the core Oppo brand.

They are moving to a single Android skin across all three brands, with absolutely no exceptions. Yes, that means ColorOS is coming to every single one of their smartphones. Which means no more OxygenOS and Realme UI.

Maintaining three separate Android skins, ColorOS, OxygenOS, and Realme UI, costs a ridiculous amount of capital, time, and software engineering. To aggressively slash those research and development costs, Oppo has made the tough call to axe both OxygenOS and Realme UI for good.

We are also seeing a big shift in where these brands operate. OnePlus is narrowing its focus down to its two biggest markets, India and China. Meanwhile, Realme is winding down its operations in China to concentrate fully on international markets.

In Malaysia, we are already seeing fewer OnePlus device releases, while Oppo and Realme are still releasing new devices here regularly.
