Valve launched the Steam Machine last month, and while it is not officially available in Malaysia, that just opens the door for local resellers to mark up the price massively.
One reseller, Impulse Gaming, has listed the Steam Machine for a staggering RM7,499! Over in the US, official pricing starts at USD1,049 (~RM4,278) for the entry-level 512GB model without a Steam Controller, going up to USD1,428 (~RM5,824) for the top-spec 2TB bundle that comes with the controller.
The local video game store hasn’t actually specified which version they are stocking, but either way, spending nearly RM7,500 on a desktop that offers performance similar to a standard PS5 is tough to justify.
