Malaysians are getting a nice little connectivity boost this national month. As part of the Rahmah Rebate Incentive, local mobile users will be able to claim 10GB of free data to celebrate Merdeka and Malaysia Day.
According to Scoop, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil confirmed that five major telcos: CelcomDigi, Maxis, TM, U Mobile and YES; are teaming up for the offer. The free data will be split evenly across the festivities, with the first 5GB landing on Merdeka Day, 31 August, and the second 5GB dropping on Malaysia Day, 16 September.
The offer applies to both prepaid and postpaid subscribers across the country. Specific details on how to redeem the extra data, along with its validity period, will be shared directly by the individual networks soon, so keep an eye out on your telco for the updates.
