Apple has just refreshed the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro, with its latest M6 chip under the hood.
This new base model packs a M6 chip with 12-core CPU using a 2+4+6 core layout, paired with a 12-core GPU featuring hardware-accelerated ray tracing and Neural Accelerators built straight into each core. On top of that, there is a dedicated dual 16-core Neural Engine to handle AI tasks.

You get 16GB of unified memory out of the box, with options to step up to 24GB or 32GB. It is worth noting that only the 24GB and 32GB builds get the full 170GB/s memory bandwidth, whereas the 16GB version drops slightly to 153GB/s. Storage starts at a 1TB standard, though you can configure it with 2TB or 4TB if you need extra storage.

Beyond the new processor, Apple has added its custom N1 wireless chip, bringing Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) and Bluetooth 6 support to the table.
Everything else remains pretty familiar as previous MBPs. You still get the crisp 14.2-inch 120Hz Mini-LED Liquid Retina XDR display running at 3,024 x 1,964 pixels with a 1,600-nit peak HDR brightness.

Port selection remains solid with three Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, an HDMI port, a MagSafe 3 charging port, and an SDXC card slot. It also retains Thread support and the usual six-speaker setup, all housed in a chassis that is 1.55cm thin and weighs in at 1.55kg.
Pricing and Availability
Pricing starts at RM8,299 for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage combo. If you are based in Malaysia, pre-orders open on 29 October via the online store or the Apple Store app, with full retail availability and deliveries kicking off on Friday, 6 November.
