Other than the Google Pixel 9 series, Google also announced a new smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 3, and it’s coming to Malaysia soon.
The Pixel Watch 3 comes in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, powered by the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 SoC and includes a suite of sensors such as a heart rate monitor, ECG (electrocardiogram) monitor, SpO2 (blood oxygen), skin thermometer, and GPS.
It stands out as the first Android smartwatch to offer UWB (ultra-wide band) connectivity, making it easier to unlock your phone or locate the device with Google’s Find My Device feature.
Both the 41mm and 45mm variants now feature displays with peak brightness of 2,000 nits. The 41mm version has 1.2-inch screen, while the 45mm version has been upgraded to a 1.4-inch display.
Battery-wise, the 41mm model is equipped with a 310 mAh battery, whereas the 45mm model houses a 420 mAh battery.
The Pixel Watch 3 also supports Bluetooth LE Audio, a low-energy Bluetooth audio protocol that conserves power while streaming music. It’s the first Android smartwatch to offer this functionality.
Colour options for both variants include Matte Black Aluminium with an Obsidian strap and Polished Silver Aluminium with a Porcelain strap.
The 41mm variant also offers a Champagne Gold Aluminium finish with a Hazel band, while the 45mm variant is available in Matte Hazel Aluminium with the same Hazel band.
Pricing and Availability
In Malaysia, the 41mm Google Pixel Watch 3 is priced at RM1,849, while the 45mm model will be priced at RM1,999.
According to Lowyat.net, there won’t be LTE models, so these watches will only be available in the WiFi variant.
The Pixel watches will be available starting 10 September 2024, and you can buy them through CelcomDigi, Maxis, Urban Republic, Senheng/SenQ, Shopee, and Lazada.
