Following weeks of leaks, speculation, and rumors, the highly anticipated AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D now has an official launch date.
Jack Huynh, the senior vice president and general manager of the Computing and Graphics Group at AMD, posted an announcement of the upcoming gaming CPU on X (formerly Twitter).
The 9800X3D is set to launch on 7 November, with its price to be announced later. Rumours indicate it may be priced between USD485 (~RM2,106) and USD525 (~RM2,279).
According to leaked specs, the 9800X3D is anticipated to boast 8 cores and 16 threads, utilising the Zen 5 core architecture.
It’s expected to run at a 4.7 GHz base clock, which is 900 MHz higher than the Ryzen 7 9700X and 500 MHz more than the previous generation Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
The boost clock is reported to reach 5.2 GHz across all cores, which is 200 MHz faster than the 5 GHz boost of the 7800X3D. Additionally, the CPU is designed with a 120W TDP.
Regarding the 3D V-Cache, the 9800X3D will feature 96 MB of L3 cache, identical to that of the 7800X3D.
