MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ Announced: Slight Speed Bump, AI Boost & Long-Range Bluetooth

The Bluetooth can now reach up to 10km, provided there's a clear line of sight.

MediaTek has just rolled out an updated version of its flagship chip, upgrading the Dimensity 9400 to the Dimensity 9400+. The new version offers some small but notable improvements over last year’s model.

The Dimensity 9400+ features a CPU with one ARM Cortex-X925 core that can now reach up to 3.73 GHz, a slight bump from the 9400’s 3.63 GHz.

On the GPU side, though, things stay mostly the same—it keeps the Arm Immortalis-G925 MC12. MediaTek claims their Frame Rate Converter 2.0+, supported games can see up to a 40% performance boost. Other specs like LPDDR5X-10667 RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, the Imagiq 1090 ISP, and MiraVision 1900 display engine remain unchanged.

The NPU 890 is still here, but it now delivers 20% faster agentic AI performance thanks to Speculative Decoding+. This upgrade also makes it easier for developers to turn regular AI apps into more advanced agentic AI applications.

One interesting upgrade is Bluetooth connectivity—the new chip can support connections up to 10km, as long as both phones have a clear line of sight.

The Dimensity 9400+ will first appear in phones like the Vivo X200s, Oppo Find X8s, and Realme GT7, which are set to launch in the coming weeks.
