Xiaomi recently revealed that they’re working on their own smartphone chipset.
In a Weibo post, CEO Lei Jun shared the chip’s name—it’ll be called Xuanjie O1 in China and XRing O1 globally.
Lei also confirmed that the full unveiling will happen in late May, so we won’t have to wait long to get all the details.
But ahead of the official announcement, some benchmarks have leaked, giving us a peek at the chip’s specs.
According to the leak, it’ll have two cores running at 1.80 GHz, two at 1.89 GHz, four at 3.4 GHz, and two more at 3.90 GHz. While the exact core types aren’t confirmed yet, rumours suggest the two fastest ones could be Cortex-925 cores, while the 1.80 GHz ones might be Cortex-A520.
In one test, it scored 2,709 in single-core and 8,125 in multi-core. Another benchmark showed slightly different results, with 1,860 in single-core and 7,449 in multi-core.
The variation in scores could be due to different testing conditions or optimisations, but overall, the numbers suggest solid performance
Based on the benchmark scores, the chip’s CPU performance seems to land somewhere between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 8 Gen 3. The XRing O1 is expected to debut in the upcoming Xiaomi 15S Pro, which should be launching soon.
