U Mobile is teaming up with OpenAI to figure out how artificial intelligence (AI) can level up everything from their customer support and daily internal tasks to network management, software coding, data insights, and threat detection.
To power the whole operation, Amazon Web Services is stepping in to supply the cloud framework and technical backup needed to get these ideas off the ground.
According to U Mobile’s press release, as part of the deal, OpenAI is joining as a main partner for U Mobile’s Enterprise Innovation Platform. This existing project brings together tech firms, startups, coders, and researchers to experiment with cutting-edge 5G-Advanced and AI tools.
This marks OpenAI’s very first partnership with a mobile operator in Malaysia, giving the telco’s innovation hub extra clout to help local organisations co-create, test, and roll out next-generation technology with expert guidance. The telco also says that they wanted to be “Malaysia’s first AI-enabled telco.”
